What an irrigation installation involves

  • Water source and pressure test — mains, borehole or tank; if the pressure will not carry the system we tell you a booster pump is needed before any work starts
  • Zone planning — lawn, trees and flower beds are split into separate zones, because the three do not want the same water at the same frequency
  • Main line and lateral line laid; buried where you would rather not see pipe
  • Emitters chosen per plant — one flow rate for olive and citrus, another for flower beds
  • Filter and pressure regulator fitted — in North Cyprus, scale and sediment are the number one cause of blocked drippers
  • Lawn irrigation on pop-up sprinkler heads — drip does not work on grass, they are two different solutions
  • Timer controller installed and programmed for the season

What decides the price of an irrigation installation in Kyrenia

The price of an irrigation system is not set by square metres but by how many separate zones it needs and where the water comes from. We quote a fixed figure after the survey, and it does not move once work starts.

Frequently asked questions about drip irrigation

Do you install drip irrigation from scratch?

Yes. Drip irrigation installation is an in-house service and we do not subcontract it. We can maintain an existing system or design and install one from scratch.

I have a leak in my existing system — can you find it without digging?

On buried lines we use a thermal camera for leak detection, so the whole garden does not have to come up. Once we find the point we send you a photo of it and a written quote before any work starts.

Does a lawn need drip irrigation too?

No. Drip does not work on grass — lawn irrigation needs pop-up sprinkler heads. If you have both lawn and trees we build them as separate zones; watering them on one programme damages the grass and the trees alike.

Does drip irrigation really save water?

Yes, because the water goes straight to the root. Nothing is lost wetting leaves, bare soil and paths the way a sprinkler does, and none of it blows away in the wind. Through a North Cyprus summer the difference shows on the bill.

Will the system run while I am off the island?

Yes. We hand it over on a timer controller, we write the programme, and we leave it with you in writing. If you have our property care package we also check the system on the scheduled visits.

Will it run on borehole or tank water?

It will. A large share of gardens in North Cyprus run on borehole or tank water. Filtration matters more in that case — sediment blocks emitters — so we choose the filter to suit your water source.
